The music and magic of the pan flute
Petr Tomeček is a musician enchanted by the tones of one of the oldest wind instruments. He studied at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava and has devoted himself professionally to the pan flute for almost ten years - as the only Czech player and ambassador of this instrument in Czechia and Slovakia.
Under the banner of the association Panova flétna, z. s. he creates and produces his own concert projects. He performs at cultural and social events and collaborates with leading artists at home and abroad.
Why the pan flute
It is an instrument that sounds like a human voice - and yet carries within it a story thousands of years old. When its tone rings through a church or a concert hall, it carries the listener somewhere else entirely. It was exactly this magic that drew Petr to the pan flute - and it has never let him go.
His mission is to popularise the pan flute in our country: to bring it to towns and halls, to tell its story on stages and screens - and to open it to new players in the Academy.
Concert projects
The flagship series is The Pan Flute in Full Glory - solo concerts in churches, chapels and châteaux across the country and in Slovakia. Alongside it, Petr produces the concert project Classics for Millions.
